Graydon Carter


Edward Graydon Carter is a Canadianborn American journalist and has served as the editor of Vanity Fair since 1992. He also cofounded, with Kurt Andersen and Tom Phillips, the satirical monthly magazine Spy in 1986.

Carter was born in Toronto. He has been married three times. His first wife was a Canadian the marriage was dissolved before Carter moved to the United States at the age of 28. His second marriage, to Cynthia Williamson, lastedyears and produced four children. The couple divorced in 2000. Carter married Anna Scott in 2005. They have a daughter.
